Purpose

The Ontario Indigenous AI & Technology Council exists to ensure Indigenous Nations, communities, and organizations across Ontario can design, govern, and deploy AI and digital technologies on their own terms.

Founding circle

The founding circle is structured to include Elders, knowledge keepers, technologists, legal experts, and community leaders. Individual names remain private unless explicitly approved for public release.

This Council is being founded so Indigenous Peoples in Ontario are not passive recipients of AI, but active designers, governors, and innovators shaping the digital world according to their own laws, values, and visions.
